Tomeka Watson-Lewis
The founder of Watsons House of Love for Youth and Mute the Violence DC. I am a mother of five and a wife. I have a degree in Criminal Justice. I was once a ward of the state through Child and Family Services Agency in the District of Columbia. I emancipated at the age of 22. I was displaced throughout my childhood which caused me to transition to many group homes and foster homes. I founded Watsons House of Love for Youth in 2018 because it has always been a dream of mine to give back to my community.
My motto is “If you’re afraid to lose, you were never built to win.”
Deonte Watson-Isaac
One of the co-founders of Watson’s House of Love for Youth and Mute the Violence DC. I’m 25 years old. I am currently working as a full-time Barber. I have a huge heart to influence our youth in making positive choices. I was once a ward of the state through District of Columbia Child and Family Services so, I hope to share my story someday to encourage and support our youth with examples of proper discipline in developing mental attitudes in a positive manner.
